A little place of spiritual refreshment

In the past year and a half I had the chance to attend the church services of a number of Christian denominations. It was a pleasant experience getting a taste of the variety of worship found in The Church of Christ and in every service I was blessed. But, I always missed the one service that I have always enjoyed and that is the Friday night prayer service at Calvary Church Damansara Heights.

So, after this one-year hiatus from Calvary Church, I thought I would go back and see how things were. Well, I slipped back in quite easily and wasn’t disappointed. There is something about the Friday night prayer service at Calvary Church Damansara Heights that adds to my well-being. Even when things are not going quite right, I often leave the service feeling better! Why do I feel better? I haven’t the faintest idea! I just feel better!

Call it what you like — God’s work, the Presence of God, the work of Holy Spirit — to me it is a time and space to revel in something inexplicably divine. I don’t understand it and I don’t quantify it. I just enjoy it!

If after a long week of work and worldly concerns, you want to go somewhere quiet and peaceful for some spiritual refreshment, that’s a very good place to go to. There’s nothing there to offend your sensibilities. The worship is mellow and soothing (although one or two lively tunes might perk things up a bit!), and if you are quiet and relaxed, you can hear the murmur of speaking in tongues (Calvary Church is charismatic) like a spring frolicking over rocks! It’s balm to your soul, and, revelling in it, you commune with God and, who knows, you may hear the whispers of God and that would make all the difference to your life!

If you don’t have a church to go to on a Friday night, that is a good alternative. If you make your way to that service, do look me up. I’ll make you as comfortable as I can. It’s a small crowd that meets there on Fridays, so you won’t miss me. If you don’t see me, just ask for me.

The new LRT station is being built just a block away and when that is open, the church will be conveniently accessible. Right now there’s ample parking space in the lanes around the church building. The address is: 2, Jalan Damansara Endah,, Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur. Phone:+60 3-2094 6012

Hope to see you there some day!
